Longue Vue House and Gardens is excited to announce its first live painting competition. The "On Your Mark Art Battle" will be held in the Lucy C. Roussel Discovery Garden for children, and feature works from artists T.J. Black, Mary Burns, Alex Harvie, Amy Harvie, Brent Houzenga, and Jill Mulkey.

Longue Vue's whimsical Discovery Garden will be the inspiration for these live paintings. "Anyone who has spent time in our children's garden is sure to strike a bond with the artwork created at the event," says Longue Vue Educator, Jen Cohn. The live paintings will be auctioned during the two-hour event, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting educational programs at Longue Vue. Select other works from participating artists will be on display in the Gate House at Longue Vue through April 11.

The free event will be held on Sunday, March 8 from 3 to 5 p.m. Light refreshments will be served, along with activities for children. For more information, contact Jen Cohn at 504.293.4721 or jcohn@longuevue.com. RSVP at www.longuevue.com.
