Le Petit Theatre is celebrating Tennessee Williams with the New Orleans premiere of Baby Doll, based on the one-act play “27 Wagons Full of Cotton,” and the screenplay for the 1956 film. Baby Doll is a dark comedy set in the sweltering summer heat of 1950s Mississippi that explores the desires, desperation and prejudices of two rival cotton gin owners and their attempts to seduce a young bride after a suspected act of arson. Audiences will experience the journey of Baby Doll Meighan as she struggles to find her voice while delaying the sexual advances of her overbearing husband.

Directed by Artistic Director Maxwell Williams, the creative team for Baby Doll includes Steven Schepker (Scenic Designer), Kaci Thomassie (Costume Designer), Joshua Courtney (Lighting Designer), Tyler Kieffer (Sound Design), Nathan Norris (Assistant Director), Mad Props - Destany Gorham and Ellen Bull (Props Design), Michelle Kelleher (Stage Manager), Katie Shea Bandit (Assistant Stage Manager) and Whitney Randall (Dramaturg).
