New Orleans, LA (February 16, 2018) – Built in 1912, the Casino Building in City Park has been a lively and active part of the Park’s history for over 105 years.  This multi-use building houses a food and beverage facility downstairs, as well as the Parkview Terrace event space upstairs, and is in need of repairs.  Annually, over 50 special events, from weddings to corporate meetings, are held in the Casino Building, along with it being the first stop in the Park to more than 1,500 tour buses filled with visitors from all over the world! This year Friends of City Park will raise funds to benefit the restoration of the Casino Building with its premier fundraiser Lark in the Park.

Annually, New Orleans City Park raises 90% of its own operating budget, which leaves little to no funds for repairs or capital improvements.  Friends of City Park supports the needed capital improvements within the Park through fundraisers, such as Lark in the Park.

The event, which includes live entertainment by Sweet Crude and DJ Ann Glaviano – HEATWAVE!, will feature food and beverage from more than 40 of New Orleans’ top restaurants, and will take place on the Goldring/Woldenberg Great Lawn and Peristyle on Friday, March 9th from 8:00 to 11:00 pm.

VIP guests will have the opportunity to kick off the night in the Peristyle with an exclusive preview party from 7:00-8:00 PM with exquisite cuisine from Dickie Brennan & Co. family of restaurants and exciting live entertainment from Paul Soniat + Special Guests from the Friends of City Park Historical Musical Train Tour. The main event begins at 8:00 pm and will feature a live and silent auction, car raffle from Bryan Subaru, jewelry raffle from Valobra Jewelers, entertainment, and premium libations!

Tickets to Lark in the Park are $100 per person, $90 for members of Friends of City Park, and $75 per Party Flock ticket (ages 21-35). Tickets are limited and attendees must be 21 years or older.

Tickets available by calling 504-483-9376 or online at: https://www.friendsofcitypark.com/event/lark-in-the-park/
