Jewel of the South: Nestled in the lower part of New Orleans’ French Quarter, Jewel of the South is the culinary and cocktail gem co-owned by James Beard Award-winning bartender, Chris Hannah, and former Cure Co-Partner, Nick Detrich. The 2-story indoor/outdoor restaurant and bar is named after the New Orleans establishment operated by Joseph Santini in the middle 19th century, which was responsible for introducing fresh citrus to cocktail making – one of the most important cocktail innovations of the last two hundred years.  Today, Jewel of the South pays tribute to the great taverns of New Orleans past, while reimagining dining and drinking in the Crescent City for the present. The kitchen is helmed by Executive Chef Philip Whitmarsh who curates a culinary program of fresh Louisiana ingredients inflected with English sensibility. Under the direction of Hannah, who is famously known for his 14-year stint at the iconic French 75 bar, the cocktail program at Jewel of the South showcases timeless classics like the Sazerac and Brandy Crusta, as well as creative concoctions highlighting the bounty of Gulf Coast produce. Jewel of the South is located at 1026 Saint Louis Street on the corner of North Rampart and St Louis. Dinner is served nightly from 5:30PM – Midnight; bar opens at 4PM every day; and Happy Hour is available 4PM – 6PM Monday through Friday.
