WHO'S IN THE SoFAB KITCHEN THIS JUNE?
Chefs, Mixologists and More to Offer Demonstrations and Samples

Get out of the heat and into the kitchen this June at the Southern Food and Beverage Museum's (SoFAB) Saturday culinary demonstrations. Offered in the state-of-the-art Rouses Culinary Innovation Center by Jenn-Air, some of New Orleans' talented chefs and mixologists will preview tantalizing offerings while guests can enjoy close-up action, complimentary samples and take home a recipe or two. Demonstration dates and times follow:

Saturday, June 3, 2017, 1PM
Tara Rizzi, Wine/Beverage Director of Trinity: Come learn how to create craft cocktails as Rizzi demonstrates and samples some of the new summer libations at Trinity, the Lower French Quarter's hot restaurant and bar, touted as one of the city's best by Conde Nast Traveler and Opentable.

Saturday, June 10, 2017
*In honor of National Iced Tea Day, Luzianne Tea is presenting complimentary admission to the museum all day.

1PM - SoFAB Founder and President Liz Williams, in conjunction with Luzianne Tea, will celebrate National Iced Tea Day with a demonstration and lecture on the history of iced tea. In addition, Williams will present Luzianne Tea with a certificate to mark their place on the National Culinary Heritage Register - a list of culinary products, processes, inventions, traditions, and establishments that are at least 50 years old and that have contributed significantly to the development of American foodways.

3PM - Gabriel Charpentier, Chef de Cuisine at The Grill Room at Windsor Court Hotel: Chef Charpentier will conduct a demonstration and tasting of some of the tantalizing bites offered at The Grill Room. A seasoned chef with more than 20 years of experience, Gabriel Charpentier's extensive training and innovative techniques bring fresh influence to the restaurant's contemporary American cuisine.

Saturday, June 17, 2017, 1PM

Carl Schaubhut, Chef/Owner of DTB: Since opening in March 2017, DTB (which stands for Down the Bayou) has earned rave reviews and accolades for its modern coastal Cajun cuisine. Chef Schaubhut, a Commander's Palace alumnus, will give guests an inside look at DTB's menu with a cooking demonstration and tasting of signature dishes.

All demonstrations are open to the public and complimentary with museum admission. Samples are available on a first come, first served basis. The Rouses Culinary Innovation Center by Jenn-Air is located in the Southern Food & Beverage Museum, 1504 Oretha Castle Haley Boulevard in New Orleans.
