See the Crown Jewel of Louisiana's River Road

Gray Line New Orleans is pleased to announce a new plantation tour to Houmas House and Gardens coming soon. This roundtrip tour will begin running on June 1, 2019. The tour will be 5 hours long (including travel time) and will depart daily at 10:30am.

Voted Best Historic Mansion by USA Today, Houmas House had humble beginnings as a simple manor house. Overtime, changes in ownership and the growth of the sugarcane business expanded Houmas House into the grand estate it is today. With a local guide, guests will get to explore the mansion that still holds rare antiques and original artwork and pieces from the 1830s. The plantation is also surrounded by wonderful water features and beautiful botanical gardens, all in bloom for the summer. Customers will be able to dine at the delicious Café Burnside or have a drink at the renowned Turtle Bar onsite.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to add Houmas House to our list of plantation offerings,” says Adrienne Thomas, Director of Marketing. “Each of our plantation tours is unique in its own way. The gardens at Houmas House are breathtaking and we wanted to allot time for our customers to explore them on their own.”

The tour includes transportation and guided tour of the mansion. It does not include the cost of food and drink. Access to the second floor of the home is by stairs, although there is an elevator available if needed.
