Guests will be able to enjoy complimentary spirits, as well as dine on fine cuisine from some of the area's best restaurants. Attendees can also look forward to some special Latin entertainment! Tickets are $75/person through August 24th and $100 at the door. All monies raised will be donated to CAGNO. You can purchase tickets online, and get more information, at www.cagno.org.
Viva La Cure began as a memorial event for William J. Burtch. He was a Slidell resident who received cancer care on both the Northshore and the Southshore. After a strong fight, Mr. Burtch passed away from Merkel Cell Carcinoma. His family and friends wanted to honor his memory by helping other people in this community undergoing cancer treatment. The Cancer Association of Greater New Orleans provides financial assistance to local cancer patients in the following parishes: Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, St. Charles, Washington, Assumption, Lafourche, St. Mary, Terrebonne, & St. John the Baptist.
CAGNO's patient services program provides vital prescription medications and necessities to cancer patients who otherwise would have to do without. Those necessities crucial to the comfort and recovery of local cancer patients include chemo-therapeutic agents, antibiotics, anti-nausea and pain relieving medications as well as colostomy supplies, bed pads and other sick room equipment. CAGNO strongly believes that education is a key tool in lowering cancer incidence and mortality in the Greater New Orleans area. By offering a variety of classes in cancer prevention to area schools and businesses, CAGNO is successfully achieving this goal. By supporting CAGNO, you are ensuring the continued success of these programs
