WHO Marieke Gouda

WHAT
Rolf and Marieke Penterman are first-generation Wisconsin dairy farmers who moved from the Netherlands to Wisconsin in 2002. Missing the Gouda they grew up with in the Netherlands, Marieke began making cheese in November of 2006 has earned over 115 international and national awards! There will be five of their handcrafted cheeses to sample. Their Plain Belegen, aged 4-6 months, the Marieke Golden, aged 6-9 months and their Foenegreek Gouda, which has a nutty, maple-like flavor. They will also be offering two of their seasonal cheeses: Smoked Gouda and  Burning Melange.

General Admission Fête Rouge: $30 for adults and $12 for children. 
VIP Fête Blanche: $65 Adult Only. Early admission at 10 AM, two adult beverage tickets and more.
VIP Fête Bleue: $125 Adult Only. VIP lounge, light brunch, unlimited French wines, craft beers, hard ciders, and specialty waters, one Cheese 101 seminar ticket, 10 AM admission to the festival and more.

WHY 

The French-American Chamber of Commerce of the Gulf Coast region is excited to present a celebration of more than 100 artisan  cheeses from all over the world. Stroll the grounds of the New Orleans Jazz Museum at the U.S. Mint while listening to great music, sampling cheeses, tasting specialty foods and sipping on wine, cider, and beer. Watch a cheese wheel cracking competition, learn about the history of cheese with France-based Chef Alex Miles, or VIPs can catch a seminar with world renowned cheese experts Liz Thorpe or Michele Buster. Round off your festival experience with a visit to Le Marché, a fabulous store brimming with plenty of cheese-related items to take home. We can’t wait to see you there!
