NEW ORLEANS, LA - Friends of the Cabildo, support organization for the Louisiana State Museum, will host its 28th annual Ghostly Gallivant Fundraiser, October 25th - 31st. The three-day event kicks off Saturday (25th) and Sunday (26th) with Ghostly tours leaving from the 1850 House Museum Store on Historic Jackson Square. The tours will run every half-hour from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., each day. On the Friday night of Halloween, the Friends will host its "Gala" at the Cabildo from 6:30 p.m. -9:00 p.m.
The Ghostly Gallivant weekend is highlighted with the "Gala," a Halloween costume party at the Cabildo on Jackson Square. Guests are encouraged (but not required) to dress up in costume and get in the Halloween spirit! Tickets include food and drink (beer and wine) from restaurants in the French Quarter. Tickets for the "Gala" are $40 dollars in advance and $50 dollars at the door.
The weekend before Halloween, the Friends will have tour guides lead guests on a haunting and hilarious tour of the French Quarter. Ghosts, such as Jean Laffite and the Baroness Michaela Pontalba, may all be happened upon in French Quarter buildings and courtyards. No two ghosts will be on the same day of the route. Tours begin at 10am on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are only $25 for adults (+21), $10 for students and children are free.
