The Friends of Longue Vue (FLV) are proud to present the 2016 Essence of Style Design Symposium featuring Dutch Master Floral Designer, René van Rems AIFD. Chaired by Suzanne Krieger and Kathy Weidner, proceeds from the Design Symposium benefit Longue Vue House and Gardens.
For its 25th year, the Friends of Longue Vue will host a three-day event that kicks off with a Designer Reception at the home of Douglas Lore on Thursday, Nov. 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. Guests will enjoy cocktails, cuisine and conversation with van Rems. Tickets are $150 per person.
On Friday, Nov. 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. New Orleans' interior and floral design enthusiasts will gather for a luncheon and lecture at the Audubon Tea Room. Entitled "Flowers, Foliage and Botanicals" attendees will explore European seasonal interiors, events and weddings with van Rems, complete with a silent auction and book signing. Tickets are $100 for members and $125 for nonmembers.
The event culminates with two holiday centerpiece workshops on Saturday, Nov. 19. Participants can choose to attend the 9 a.m. to noon class or 1 to 4 p.m. class, where van Rems will instruct participants on how to create a holiday centerpiece using autumn flowers and foliage. Tickets are $150 for members and $175 for nonmembers.
