New Orleans, LA (April 16, 2015) - This June women from across the country are meeting in the Crescent City to celebrate FestiGals fifth annual festival, themed "Ordinary Women, Extraordinary Journeys". As a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting, educating and inspiring women, FestiGals Empowerment Day offers women of all ages and interests a series of dynamic speakers, inspirational panels and motivational workshops focusing on personal and professional development.

Headlining Empowerment Day on Friday June 12th will be businesswoman Dayna Steele. As the CEO of YourDailySuccessTip.com, Steele is also a best-selling author and former radio personality for one of Houston's most popular rock stations. Drawing upon her background in broadcasting, Steele taps into her 'Rock Star Principles of Success' in order to connect with and educate her audiences on proven methods to successfully grow a business and surpass the competition.

"Rock stars, men and women, get to the top of their profession with not just talent and hard work but with daily commitments to strong principles such as doing for others, networking, learning and showing appreciation. These principles were instilled in me early on by some of the greatest rock stars in the world and I can't wait to share them," says Steele. During her keynote speech, attendees will be able to channel their own inner rock star and learn how to create a daily action plan designed to fuel success.

Empowerment Day begins at 8:00 a.m. at the JW Marriott with a Continental Breakfast entitled "Heels on the Ground: Women Who Created a Storm of Change After Katrina". Audience members will hear from a panel of women who played a pivotal role in the reconstruction of New Orleans in the aftermath of hurricane Katrina. Leading through advocacy, education and community activism, these strong women saw a need and stepped up to fill it.

From Women of the Storm founder Anne Milling's advocacy to affect change in Washington D.C., to Denise Thornton's grass roots Beacon of Hope Resource Center that became a template for recovery, to New Orleans City Councilmember LaToya Cantrelle's passion to preserve a neighborhood, these three women will enlighten and inspire your sense of community with their fearless leadership in the face of extreme adversity.

Empowerment Day also offers attendees three different seminar tracks designed to help you reach your full potential. Attendees will hear from women from all walks of life who embody FestiGals' theme, "Ordinary Women, Extraordinary Journeys." Among the panelists featured are: 'America's Queen of Soul' Irma Thomas, documentarian Peggy Scott Laborde, journalist and author Poppy Tooker and Tales of the Cocktail visionary Ann Tuennerman. Each woman will share her unique story of overcoming obstacles along the road to success. Other topics include women's health, entrepreneurial tips, and strategies for achieving personal and financial success. Regardless of your focus, FestiGals programming provides something substantive to educate and inspire.
