New Orleans, LA - October 14, 2016 - DOUBLOON TOURS, operator of historical and heritage tours in New Orleans, has just added a new activity to its roster of entertaining and educational New Orleans experiences.
Next year will mark the centennial of the first jazz recording. What an opportunity that presents to enlighten and entertain the public with a historical walking tour that chronicles the rise and early development of jazz, right here in New Orleans. The tour is called Jazz! A New Orleans Story.

See and hear how it all began! No other existing tours tell this fascinating story or walk this particular route, along the critical corridor where pioneering musicians once lived and played.

The tour explores the world of honky-tonks, social clubs, barbershops, and other hotspots popular in the early days of jazz. Along the way, samples of the iconic recordings that defined early jazz will complete the experience and bring this story to life.

DOUBLOON TOURS also offers historical walking tours of the French Quarter, the Garden District, St. Louis Cemeteries #1 and #2, African And Afro-Creole Heritage tours, and in a new partnership with the New Orleans School of Cooking, a cooking demo + walking tour called "Creole City, Creole Cuisine!"
