COCHON ANNIVERSARY CONTINUES:
“COCHON WITH THE UGLESICHES”
Fundraising Dinner for Team Gleason Set
NEW ORLEANS, LA — Cochon’s celebration continues with the next event in its Anniversary Dinner Series: “Cochon with the Uglesiches,” an intimate evening that brings together two chapters of New Orleans’ culinary story. The special dinner, on Thursday, September 10, 2026, celebrates Anthony and Gail Uglesich and the enduring spirit of Uglesich’s, a beloved New Orleans institution. A cocktail reception begins at 5:30 pm, followed by dinner at 7 pm.
“Sharing this anniversary event with Anthony and Gail is an honor,” said Stephen Stryjewski, chef and co-owner of Link Restaurant Group. “Uglesich’s shaped the way so many of us cook and think about food and hospitality in New Orleans, and having them here makes this dinner incredibly special.”
Known for its fiercely loyal following and 81-year history, Uglesich’s remains a hallmark of the city’s culinary identity, even after it closed its doors in 2005. To celebrate that legacy, Anthony and Gail are consulting on the evening’s seated, four-course, family-style menu featuring dishes inspired by, and directly pulled from, the iconic Uglesich’s repertoire. “It means so much to Gail and me to see the spirit of Uglesich’s live on,” said Anthony Uglesich. “Knowing that people still connect with what we created is incredibly special, and we’re excited to experience that feeling again.”
The evening will also include a live auction benefiting Team Gleason, whose mission is to improve life for people living with ALS and those who care for them. Featured auction items: Signed Steve Gleason Saints jersey and signed Uglesich’s cookbooks.
Paul Varisco, Chairman of the Board for the Team Gleason Foundation and a longtime regular at Uglesich’s— the namesake of the famed Paul’s Fantasy trout dish—brings both personal history and community spirit to the event as co-host. “Uglesich’s was more than a restaurant for me; it was a place where relationships were built, and memories were made,” said Varisco. “Being able to honor Anthony and Gail while raising support for Team Gleason brings those connections full circle.”
Guests of honor Anthony and Gail Uglesich will be in attendance, along with Steve Gleason, whose resilience and determination continue to inspire the city and beyond.
