CELEBRATE NATIONAL OYSTER DAY AT TRINITY
Chef Michael Isolani Serves Up Creative Oyster Presentations
On Friday, August 5, 2016, mollusk lovers can celebrate National Oyster Day at Trinity, the new bustling restaurant/bar that opened in May 2016 in New Orleans' lower French Quarter. Executive Chef Michael Isolani's creative "Oyster" menu is certain to tantalize even the most discerning bivalve connoisseur.
"Like most people in New Orleans, I'm a big oyster fan. At Trinity, I wanted to do something different with our oysters and it's fun to experiment with different accoutrements and flavors," says Isolani.
Available by the ½ dozen, Trinity features five (5) different types of oyster presentations. Purists might opt for raw oysters with cocktail "caviar", celery shoots and housemade soda crackers. More adventurous options include baked oysters, prepared au gratin style in a ceramic pot and accompanied by grilled ciabatta; broiled oysters - panko crusted and topped with cayenne aioli and flying fish roe; smoked oysters served on deviled eggs and topped with Cajun caviar and horseradish; and oyster gazpacho, the perfect summer soup with raw oysters, radish sprouts and cucumber.
Guests can accompany their oysters with one of Trinity's signature cocktails like The Pearl - Fortaleza Reposado Tequila, Manzanilla sherry, house infused poached pear brandy and the SRP Punk - house infused salt roasted-peach rye, lemon, basil, sugar, peach bitters and salt. Lower tolerance imbibers might choose a SoftTail (low ABV) such as Da Jam - house infused mixed berry Aperol, balsamic reduction and cane sugar and Borscht and Bubbles - vodka, lemon, beets, and dill, topped with champagne. A large selection of local craft brews and a moderately priced wine list are also on offer.
National Oyster Day is Friday, August 5, 2016. Oyster offerings available from 5PM - 11PM. Trinity is located at 1117 Decatur Street in New Orleans' French Quarter. Reservations can be made at www.opentable.com. Telephone: (504)325-5789; www.trinityrestaurantneworleans.com
