World’s leading CBT experts gather to advance inclusive, evidence-based mental healthcare
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – November 19, 2025
WHO/WHAT
The Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT) will host its 59th Annual Convention at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans, Nov. 20–23, 2025.
With more than 4,000 members representing researchers, clinicians, professors, and students from around the world, ABCT leads the field in the study and practice of evidence-based behavioral and cognitive therapies. This year’s conference theme, “Bridging the Divide: Promoting Rigorous Science and Inclusive Affirming Therapies,” underscores ABCT’s continued commitment to advancing equitable, affirming approaches to mental healthcare while maintaining the highest standards of scientific integrity.
The 2025 convention celebrates nearly six decades of leadership in cognitive and behavioral therapies and marks a shift toward more inclusive, culturally sensitive, and affirming treatment frameworks. Choosing New Orleans as the host city amplifies the event’s theme by blending academic rigor with a vibrant, diverse cultural backdrop, bringing ABCT’s work to professionals from regions not traditionally represented at past conventions. More than 3,000 attendees are expected to convene for four days of symposia, workshops, and presentations covering the latest in research, practice, and innovation, including the use of AI, VR, and digital technologies in mental-health treatment.
ABCT is committed to giving back to the city of New Orleans. In addition to its scientific programming, the organization will recognize two local youth leaders from the Greater New Orleans region who are making a positive impact in mental health through community engagement, service, activism, advocacy, research, or other creative approaches. This Youth Community Leader Award Ceremony will take place on Friday, Nov. 21.
