Architecture & Design Film Festival: New Orleans
August 11th to August 13th

The Louisiana Architectural Foundation is pleased to announce that the Architecture & Design Film
Festival (ADFF ) will be coming to New Orleans, for the first time, from August 11th to August 13th. The Architecture & Design Film Festival is based in New York City. Now in its 8th year, ADFF is the largest film festival dedicated to the creative spirit of Architecture & Design. This festival gives people in our region a great opportunity for exposure and participation in the world of architecture and design through film. LAF seeks to bring together the general public with our arts, architecture and cultural partners in this celebration of architecture through a weekend of films. More information: www.adfilmfest.com

Films range from preservation issues, modern architecture, youth participation, women's roles, gentrification and more. Around 20 films will be screened, a combination of feature-length and short films. Our exciting lineup of films will be announced July 11th, tickets on sale starting July 21st.

PREMIERE PARTY!
Ticket sales have started for our fabulous Premiere Party! This will be the official kick-off of Architecture & Design Film Festival: New Orleans, a celebration party and premiere film. The party will run 5:30-7:30 followed by the premiere film. Ticket price includes delicious dishes by Mopho restaurant, chef Michael Gulotta, was recently named a 2016 Food & Wine Best New Chef. Open bar of beer, wine and a specialty cocktail, live music fit for dancing, followed by an entertaining premiere film to be announced soon! Don't miss one of the best parties of the summer! The Louisiana Architectural Foundation is a state-wide, non-profit that works to advance architecture in Louisiana by serving as a link between the public and the architectural profession. This includes public awareness of architecture,public support for architecture,and public participation in processes that shape the environment.

Friday, August 12th:
12:15-1pm: Book talk by author Guy Carwile of "The Modernist Architecture" followed by signing.
Lecture space at the Louisiana Endowment of Humanities, 938 Lafayette St, New Orleans. Lecture, free and open to the public.
4:00pm: Films starting at the Carver Theater (2101 Orleans), with the film "If You Build It" followed by a roundtable discussion, films then continue running until 11pm.
5:00pm-6:30pm: Happy Power Hour, hosted by LAF and WIA (Women In Architecture), bar area, Broad Street Theater, 636 Broad Street. A fun networking and social event prior to a 6:30pm film at the Broad Theater.
6:30 pm: Films starting at the Broad Street Theater, 636 Broad running until 11pm.

Saturday, August 13th:
11:00am: Films starting around 11:00 am at both venues, at the Broad Street Theater (636 Broad Street) and the Carver
Theater (2101 Orleans) continuing until 11:00 pm.
3:30pm: book talk and signing by co-author Pres Kabacoff, Revitalizing Cities: The HRI Vision, talk will take place on the 2nd Fl of the Carver Theater (2101 Orleans Avenue).
