Algiers Economic Development Foundation is excited to announce the 2019 annual Algiers Bonfire & Concert, presented by New Orleans Tourism Marketing Corp. This year’s event is channeling Algiers’ local flavor to support small businesses via pre-parties at local restaurants, food and beverage vendors, including hot chocolate and coffee from neighborhood coffee shops, a holiday craft market with local artists, and an emphasis on local music performances to create a holiday event like no other in New Orleans.

The event will begin at the Algiers Ferry Landing, with musical acts DJ Rik Ducci, the All Saints Church Choir and the Landry-Walker Marching Band. Before the bonfire is lit, the marching band will lead the crowd from Algiers Point to the Batture to see this year’s special bonfire design from NOLA Burners be set ablaze.

“By working in closer collaboration with local residents and vendors, we’re excited to re-center this event on celebrating the unique feel of Algiers. Especially with the ferry being down these last months, it is more important than ever to draw attention to our incredible small businesses and our vibrant community,” said Derrick Martin, Executive Director of AEDF.

The event will take place Saturday, December 7th, 2019 from 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM. Eastbank residents and visitors can catch the holiday-decorated Crescent City Bridge Shuttle from the Canal Street Ferry Terminal directly to the event.

Algiers Economic Development Foundation is an economic development nonprofit whose mission is to build a sustainable, business friendly environment that grows investments and jobs in Westbank, New Orleans through advocacy, marketing and business development, recruitment and retention.
