Sensory Friendly Playtime is a special monthly playtime for children with sensory-specific needs. During this time, the museum will offer low-sensory experiences away from the noise, crowds, and stimulation of normal operating hours. During sensory friendly playtime, the lights will be turned down, and noise-cancelling headphones, weighted vests, and other adaptive equipment will be provided. Specialists will help facilitate playtime, when available.
Sensory Friendly Playtime takes place on the first Thursday of each month. This month, sensory playtime will be on August 3, 2023, from 4:30-6:30 PM.
Sensory Friendly Playtime will be hosted by the Louisiana Children’s Museum at 15 Henry Thomas Dr, New Orleans, LA 70124.
