Description

New Orleans has a colorful history of death. Death by fire. Death by torture. Death by disease. Death by execution. Death by suicide. Death by just about any means you can conjure. And it's been ticking death here moment-by-moment for nigh on 300 years. It's only natural that a few of those souls are left behind — souls ripped from their mortal carcasses so suddenly, or so tragically, or just so begrudgingly, that they are unable or unwilling to go to the Light. So they haunt the places of their memory: waiting, perhaps, for people and places, lusts and loves that were extinguished long ago.

Tour the storied streets of the French Quarter at night while enjoying an alcoholic 'spirit' and delve into the haunted tales and violent underbelly of New Orleans' history. Explore one of New Orleans' old-line Creole restaurants haunted by its original owner, the "Count", and his daughter. Learn the story of Louis Congo, a slave liberated in the 1700s who became the city's executioner. Hear about the Great Fire of 1788 and lost souls of the fire who wait for the church bells that should have rung to save their lives.

Features recent tales of spirit encounters as related to your guide by those who experienced them.

Tour begins promptly Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 7:00pm.
