Quality of Life
Enhancing the quality of life for both residents and visitors is at the heart of our efforts to build a stronger, more inclusive New Orleans. Through initiatives like Voluntourism & Corporate Social Responsibility, we connect meetings and conventions with local nonprofits, fostering partnerships that leave a positive and lasting impact on our community. Our commitment to equity and compassion is further reflected in Home for Good New Orleans, a collaborative effort to combat homelessness by providing safe housing and essential resources. Additionally, we strive to make our city more accessible for everyone through projects like the French Quarter Accessibility Survey, the French Quarter Access Project, and our partnership with Wheel the World. Together, these programs ensure New Orleans remains a welcoming, inclusive, and vibrant destination for all.
Voluntourism & Corporate Social Responsibility
We connect meetings and conventions with local nonprofits, facilitating impactful partnerships that align with corporate social responsibility goals. These initiatives provide in-kind donations, monetary support, and volunteer opportunities, enriching our community and leaving a positive legacy.
Home for Good New Orleans
New Orleans & Company is part of a community-wide effort with a clear vision: to create a New Orleans where homelessness is rare, brief, and non-recurring. By ensuring access to safe, affordable housing and essential resources, Home For Good New Orleans works toward a city where equity, compassion, and inclusion prosper. We are halfway to our stated goal of housing 1,500 individuals by the end of 2025 through:
- Decommissioning encampments
- Offering housing navigation services
- Accelerating transitions from shelters to permanent homes
Accessibility
New Orleans is committed to creating a city where everyone feels welcome and included. Our accessibility initiatives aim to break down barriers and enhance the experience for all residents and visitors. Through the French Quarter Accessibility Survey, conducted in partnership with the Department of Public Works, we’ve identified opportunities to improve accessibility in one of the city’s most iconic neighborhoods. The French Quarter Access Project, in collaboration with Roll Mobility and local nonprofits, builds on this work by collecting and analyzing data to drive meaningful improvements. Additionally, our partnership with Wheel the World as Louisiana’s first Destination Verified city underscores our dedication to providing training, assessments, and resources that ensure New Orleans leads the way in accessibility and inclusivity.
