ABOUT:

The Crescent City Classic 10K is an Easter weekend tradition for runners and walkers from the New Orleans area and beyond, as well as world-class athletes who view this race as one of the best of its kind because New Orleans is so flat.

For those who aren’t interested in setting any records, the race is an appreciation of New Orleans’ outdoors as spring approaches. Many participants wear costumes – there are always several Easter bunnies and an occasional Santa Claus – and many groups pull wagons with coolers for refreshments along the way. The race typically takes participants throughout the city from the Superdome over to the French Quarter and then up Esplanade Avenue to City Park for a post-race party with music, food and drink in pure New Orleans fashion.

There is also the Crescent City Health and Fitness Expo, a two-day fair in conjunction with the race that includes free food and drinks, chef presentations, guest speakers, running gear and more at the Convention Center.

Organized by The Crescent City Fitness Foundation, the Classic is open to anyone wishing to participate. The party following the race is free for participants and open to the public for a small admission fee. The celebration features some of New Orleans' favorite music as well as plenty of New Orleans food and drink.

Runners with top times receive trophies and cash prizes. Popular limited-edition Crescent City Classic race posters are given to the first 500 finishers and to female runners with a race time under 44 minutes.
