About

I was born in the USA and grew up in Israel. As a kid I spoke English in the house and Hebrew everywhere else. This led to me feeling at home in both American and Israeli cultures. You could say that I am both bilingual and bicultural!

I have always been immersed in cultural melting pots and that is why I find New Orleans so fascinating. Also, I have always been fascinated with storytelling and public speaking, have been involved in Toastmasters International, lecturing at a college and even improv comedy. In 2017 I took a leap of faith and became a tour guide in New Orleans. This was a life-changing experience for me! Since then, I completed my Israeli tour guide course and nowadays I am a licensed tour guide in both Israel and New Orleans.

Even after a few years of living in New Orleans, I learned a whole lot of new things with Ronny! Excellent guide with lots of knowledge, recommended for everyone and of course especially for Israelis.

This was not our first trip to New Orleans, but we were referred to Roni for his walking tour focused on Jewish history in New Orleans. Roni was personable and informative, with many anecdotes as we walked the French Quarter and gained a new perspective. He was organized and had some great pictures to augment his talk. We were only disappointed that we did not have more time to travel to Metairie to see the Synagogue and where the Jews in New Orleans currently reside. We would highly recommend Roni for either a Jewish history tour or just a French Quarter tour.

Great walking tour! Dec 2019 • Friends What an interesting and informative tour! I learned so much about the history of Jews in New Orleans, and have a new appreciation for some of our prominent community members (for example, I would never have guessed that Judah Touro fought in the Battle of New Orleans, or that a local banana magnate helped secure the support of South American states for UN Resolution 181, the partition plan for British Mandate Palestine). Our tour guide, Roni, was flexible in scheduling a date and time that worked for our group, and was extremely knowledgeable. The cost of the tour was very reasonable, and at two hours, it was the perfect length. Would definitely recommend!

A Krewetiful tour Nov 2019 I already knew a lot about New Orleans and a decent amount about its Jewish history, but I learned so much more. Roni is not only a great guide, informative and entertaining, but a great guy to boot. Great City Tour! Oct 2018 • Couples My wife and I came to New Orleans on our honeymoon and took a customized city tour with Roni all over the city. We started at St. Louis Cemetery #3 and saw how unique burial is in New Orleans. We visited City Park which I would not have thought of going to on my own, but I'm glad we did. Then we went to the French Quarter and saw the magical architecture and had a drink at Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop. We ended with an evening tour of the Garden District and last but not least a drink at the Hot Tin on the roof of the Pontchartrain Hotel. Roni was very informative, yet kept it light and entertaining. Would definitely recommend!

Great tour! Dec 2018 • Family My wife, daughter, and I had a great time on the Jewish History tour of New Orleans. Roni was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about all the subject matter. We enjoyed a leisurely walk all around the French Quarter while being educated on New Orleans' (surprisingly) rich Jewish history. Roni was a great guide and very entertaining, making the tour fly by. Informative pleasant and easy tour Nov 2018 • Friends We took a French Quarter history walking tour with Roni in November of 2018. We had a group of 11 for a big occasion in New Orleans, but wanted to actually hear the history of the French Quarter. Met up at Cafe Du Monde and walked all over for the next two hours or so. Roni was pleasant, quite informative, and fun. We also walked the right amount and at a good pace for all. Roni also suggested a great place to eat right at the end of the tour, which worked out perfectly as we got there before the big lunch crowds. A good value. I would strongly recommend.
