ABOUT:
Opened in September 2006, the 26-story Harrah's Hotel adds pizzazz to New Orleans' skyline and brings luxury accommodations to the foot of Canal Street. With a central location, a decidedly New Orleans décor and plenty of amenities, this hotel caters to everyone from conventioneers and professional gamblers to tourists and locals looking for an in-town weekend getaway.
New Orleans Décor
Visitors who stay at the hotel are often struck by its style. From the private rooms to the public spaces in the lobby, Harrah's Hotel features a distinct local ambiance with the works of several local artists and photographers. A Gene Koss embedded cast glass wall greets guests upon arrival and a John T. Scott woodblock treatment of Louis Armstrong is featured in the lobby. The works of other notable photographers and artists are featured throughout the hotel while fleur de lis designs and other New Orleans influences are incorporated in furnishings.
The exterior of the hotel's lower floors along Poydras Street incorporate some of the original materials from the old buildings that it replaced. The result is a mix between old world architecture and a modern guest tower.
All the amenities
The hotel features 450 spacious rooms with oversized baths, closets and sitting areas. Some of the amenities include high-definition televisions, twice-daily housekeeping services, refrigerators, data port accessibility, cordless phones and wireless high speed internet. Suites on each floor feature even more space and comfort while the all-suite 26th floor takes visitors to the ultimate heights of luxury with butlers, designer décor and Jacuzzis. Two exclusive rooms are even furnished with a baby grand piano.
