While every day feels like a holiday in New Orleans, we celebrate the same holidays every place else does (in our own way, of course). Like our food, our traditions are richer here. If you have a 3-day weekend or longer, head on down.
Here in New Orleans, we celebrate national and worldwide holidays in our own way. Easter doesn't just mean egg hunts - it means parades with throws. Fourth of July doesn't just mean fireworks - it means dueling fireworks on barges on the Mississippi River. Halloween is filled with costumes and parades, and Thanksgiving means deep-fried Cajun turkey. Of course, there's Christmas and Mardi Gras events, too.
