
Clarinetist, saxophonist, and flutist Charlie Gabriel is a fourth-generation jazz musician from New Orleans. Raised in a classically trained musical family that emigrated from Santo Domingo in the 1850s, Gabriel began playing clarinet professionally with the Eureka Brass Band when he was eleven years old. He performs with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band and released his first solo album in 2022 at the age of 89. This concert is produced by French Quarter Festivals, Inc. in partnership with New Orleans & Company as part of Holidays New Orleans Style. It takes place at the historic St. Louis Cathedral in the heart of the French Quarter. FQFI’s holiday concerts are free and open to the public, generally running for one hour.
