A Sound Art and Experimental Music Festival

Southern Sonic is a new festival for audiences who enjoy unique aural experiences. Throughout the weekend, local and regional artists will be featured, covering a variety of genres including hip hop to avant chamber music, utopian installation environments to sonified architecture, and from remixes of vintage cinema to airborne music made by drones.

Housed in the CAC’s warehouse spaces, Southern Sonic’s sound-based visual art installations will be open to the public during normal gallery hours (11am-5pm), where viewers can see and experience new works by local and regional artists.
