For the fourth consecutive year, audiences in New Orleans will be treated to six free chamber music concerts as part of the annual Crescent City Chamber Music Festival (CCCMF), an outreach mission-centric classical music festival presented by New Orleans native and Founding Artistic Director Luke Fleming.
This year's festival runs from October 3 to 13, 2019 and will feature some of the world’s most talented classical musicians who have taken time from their concert schedules to support the festival’s mission of sharing classical music through these free public performances, as well as interactive private concerts for nonprofit organizations at 30 sites, including nursing homes, hospitals, schools, churches and homeless shelters.
Audiences will be treated to performances from some of the world’s most accomplished classical musicians, including the Lysander Piano Trio, winner of the Concert Artists Guild Competition, and the Manhattan Chamber Players, a collective of New York-based musicians who share the common aim of performing the greatest works in the chamber repertoire at the highest level.
"This year, the festival is bringing Classical music to more New Orleanians than ever before. Our audiences are growing in number and the feedback has been extremely positive," said Luke Fleming, the festival's Founding Artistic Director. "It’s really exciting to watch the Crescent City Chamber Music Festival grow in popularity and become an important contributor to the city's rich cultural landscape."
The festival opens on October 3 with a release party for a vinyl record produced by New Orleans Record Press, which will be available for purchase on site. This BYOB Opening Concert will feature Classical crossover group Sonic Escape, as well as members of the Manhattan Chamber Players.
CCCMF is supported by grants from the New Orleans Theater Association and the Mike and Lynn Coatney Family Foundation. The festival is grateful to its partner organizations Rayne Memorial United Methodist Church, WWNO, 104.9 FM, Make Music Nola, Temple Sinai, St. Charles Presbyterian Church, NOLA Chamberfest, and Urban South Brewery.
