NEW YORK - The Arena Football League Board of Directors will suspend the 2009 season subject to agreement and cooperation with the Arena Football League Players Association while the League works on developing a long-term plan to improve its economic model.

In a stunning move, Tom Benson has informed his employees that he is folding the New Orleans VooDoo. Among the many reasons for the move is the fact that the team is losing money on operations and that the lease with New Orleans Arena was not favorable.
NEW ORLEANS - The New Orleans VooDoo have hired Derek Stingley as defensive coordinator, it was announced today by the club.
Stingley, the 2008 af2 Coach of the Year with the South Georgia Wildcats and one of the AFL’s most sought after coaches, comes to the VooDoo after serving as a head coach in af2 for the past four seasons, most recently with the Wildcats from 2007-08, who he guided to back to back ten win seasons coupled with playoff berths.
