2023 Renovations
Renovations to the modern-style building have further elevated the Audubon Aquarium experience and include a new 2,500-square-foot atrium lobby with stunning views of the Mississippi River. Audubon Insectarium is now located in the same building and includes a 264 square-foot motion reactive dispay wall that uses the latest technology to bring images of butterflies and lightning bugs to “life” and react to guests presence and movement. Hundreds of butterflies representing a variety of species fly freely in the Butterfly Garden where guests also enjoy breathtaking, unobstructed views of the Mighty Mississippi. At the Insectarium, guests experience the amazing animals that pollinate our crops add beauty and diversity to our world and make up the largest group of animals on the planet.
