Description

The New Orleans Arena is home to the city's NBA team, the Hornets, and the VooDoo arena football team, which is returning to the league and the city this year, much to the delight of some of the most ardent fans in the league who set AFL attendance records when the team was last in the Big Easy. With the flexible 17,000-plus seats, the New Orleans Arena also hosts other large indoor events such as sports championships, concerts, motocross, family shows and more and is capable of being made a more intimate venue, courtesy of a versatile curtain drape.
The Arena is not open for tours, but for those seeking Hornets merchandise, the Hornets Team Store is located on the ground level and is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and during all Hornets home games. Other interesting notes on the Arena include the fact that in addition to its standard seating, it has club level seating and 56 privately owned suites; it's also a tax-free facility, meaning there is no tax on tickets, food and beverages and merchandise.
Adjacent to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome and the new Champions Square, a new outdoor festival space, the New Orleans Arena is part of a massive sports/entertainment complex right in downtown New Orleans. The complex is a huge draw for game and special event planners, not only for its seating capacity and facilities, but for its location in the city, which places attendees and visitors close to the city's most popular attractions, including the French Quarter and Bourbon Street, Harrah's Casino, the Arts/Warehouse District, fine dining, a huge selection of hotels and much more.
