New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees Wednesday, November 20, 2008
Q: Can you talk about the loss of Mark Campbell?
A: It’s tough. He missed all of last season with an injury. You saw how hard he worked with the back. I thought he was having one of his better years in his career. He’ll tell you that. Plus he’s such a great guy to have around in the locker room and in the huddle, so he’ll be missed for sure.

The New Orleans Zephyrs have endured enormous obstacles in their 16 seasons in the New Orleans market. For the first four years of their existence, there was the issue of playing Triple A baseball in a mediocre college facility at UNO. Of course, that was after a protracted dispute between Tom Benson, who sought to place a Double A franchise in New Orleans, and John Dikeou, who was moving the Z's here from Denver. According to Minor League Baseball rules, the higher-affiliated team takes precedence in any market over a lower affiliation team. As a result, the team had little or no time to sell season tickets or to get Privateer Park up to Triple A playing standards.
