HOUSTON – One day after three players posted lifetime bests, four members of the Tulane University women’s swimming and diving team – Gisele Calderon, Erin Cunningham, Lauren Pfohl and Elizabeth Whitaker – did it again as the Green Wave finished day two of the Cougar Classic Fall Invitational fifth among nine teams Saturday at the University of Houston Campus Recreation and Wellness Center Natatorium.
ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Sophomore center Brett Benzio posted her second double-double of the young season with 16 points and 14 rebounds and the Green Wave defense posted a season-high 14 steals as the Tulane University women’s basketball team defeated Loyola (Md.), 58-43, in the consolation game of the Navy Classic Saturday afternoon at Alumni Hall.
Orlando – Tulane senior Jeremy Williams became the fifth player in school history to surpass 1,000 receiving yards in a single season, but that was about the only thing that went right for the Wave as UCF forced TU into a season-high five turnovers and reeled off 28 points in the third quarter to hand Tulane a 49-0 loss in front of 31,390 at Bright House Networks Stadium.
