Tensas Yucatan wins FG's Thursday feature
NEW ORLEANS, La. - James Spence's Tensas Yucatan took command entering the stretch and drew off late to win Friday's $52,000 filly and mare allowance feature at Fair Grounds by nine lengths.
LSU attempted to hire Ed Orgeron. Ultimately, the insane money Tennessee threw at him lured him to Knoxville. Always known as a master recruiter, Orgeron is making his case in Louisiana already and it could affect LSU.
Five-star defensive back Janzen Jackson, who has been verbally committed to LSU for months, will now visit Tennessee this weekend. It turns out that Orgeron is a long-time friend of Jackson's father, Lance Guidry.
Due to unfortunate circumstances, the Fontainebleau High School football job is now open. McNeese State's Quinten Lawrence and Kyle Link have been invited to the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis.
The event, which brings in the top collegiate football players in the nation to be tested by NFL teams, will be held Feb. 19. Usually only those players expected to be taken in the NFL draft are invited to attend.
Lawrence, a wide receiver, and Link, an offensive tackle, have been standouts throughout their careers with the Cowboys.
