Due to unfortunate circumstances, the Fontainebleau High School football job is now open. In the summer of 2007, when the position opened abruptly due to head coach Larry Favre taking the St. Tammany Parish Athletic Director position, there were many applicants for the vacancy. Once again, a plethora of coaches will attempt to land one of Class 5A's most coveted jobs.
St. Augustine officials are currently speaking to interested candidates for its head football vacancy. Purple Knight administrators have interviewed a few candidates already in their initial stages.
Tulane head coach Bob Toledo fired defensive coordinator O'Neill Gilbert a few weeks back after a 2-10 season for the Wave. Toledo has been hot on the recruiting trail not only for future players for the Wave but for a replacement for Gilbert.
Former Archbishop Shaw QB Vance Joseph spoke recently with New Mexico State about their head coaching vacancy. Joseph is the secondary coach with the San Francisco 49'ers of the NFL.
