LSU coach Van Chancellor and the women’s basketball team have mustered the trials and tribulations of their rebuilding year. That’s if you want to call a second-place finish in the SEC and an 11th consecutive trip to the NCAA tournament a rebuilding year.

The Lady Tigers are now building upon the foundation began last season, starting off as No. 9 in the Sporting News Preseason Top 25 Poll. Chancellor’s third team is young, but not nearly as young as last season.

BATON ROUGE - The LSU men’s basketball program had a revival in 2009. Led by five seniors, the squad thrived under first-year coach Trent Johnson. The players bought into his scheme, and the Tigers surprised the media and fans alike with a 27-8 record, an SEC Championship and a NCAA tournament victory.

The 2010 season will be much different.
