Salmen quarterback Daniel Sams was pretty much the cog that ran the offensive wheel for the Spartans earlier this season. After Sams was dismissed from the school, most people said that any chance of getting to the Dome was gone for Salmen. Someone forgot to tell that to George Williams and new signal-caller Matt Lipham.
It is now 'Win or go home' time in prep football.
From the time the Belle Chasse Cardinals players got on the buses at school, there was a business type atmosphere. The players and coaches knew this game against Ellender was basically a playoff game. To lose this game against a winless team woiulod mean no game of any kind when the Class 4A playoffs start next week.
As we get to the final week of the regular season, teams are jockeying for positions in the playoffs. Also, a couple of defending champions need to win just to qualify for the postseason.
