John Marie just may be the most plugged in person in local sports today, with a passion that is unmatched in the industry. A Holy Cross High School and Loyola University graduate, John presents his edgy perspective on the local and national sports scene with no-holds barred – he's equally adept at heaping praise or serving as judge, jury and executioner.
John began work in radio at the tender age of 9 on WSMB doing a sports segment on his father's radio show (John Marie, Sr.). Television followed at age of 15 with WGNO ABC 26's Friday Night Football, the premier high school football TV show in Louisiana.
At 18, John was named producer of that show, followed by a position as Sports Producer for Director Ed Daniels at the same station. In radio, John has been the host of the highly popular and often volatile "Sports Court" show. He has also previously served as the color analyst on University of New Orleans baseball broadcasts with Ken Trahan. John has also covered and watched the prep sports scene as a keen observer and analyst.
Whether it is praise or criticism, John will be quick and decisive in doling it out. You will always know where you stand with John Marie.
