Recruiting Notes - The race for Randle PDF Print E-mail
Lee Brecheen's Blog
louisiana_with_football_art.jpgI had a chance this week to meet with and talk on the phone with several high school coaches from around the state about the recruitment of their senior prospects.

I talked to Bastrop head coach Brad Bradshaw, and he said that LSU's Les Miles and new defensive coordinator John Chavis came by the school Tuesday. On Wednesday, Bradshaw had visits from Oklahoma State, Auburn, Tennessee's Monte Kiffin and Ed Orgeron and Alabama defensive line coach Bo Davis, who once played at LSU. It seems like it is Alabama & LSU heading down to the wire for once-in-a-lifetime wide receiver Rueben Randle.

Louisiana recruits lack national respect PDF Print E-mail
Lee Brecheen's Blog
la_football_com.jpgOn an annual basis, Louisiana produces as many recruits than any state in the United States and recently was voted the number one state for producing NFL players in the country per capita, meaning for the population of a state overall. I don't feel Louisiana ever gets the respect it deserves from the media for having so many great players come out every year for recruiting.

Opelousas rebounds; recruiting news PDF Print E-mail
Lee Brecheen's Blog
At this time each year, I always like to put calls in to high school coaches to see what's going on--not only for players that might sign in 2008-2009 but a preview of their team for the 2009-2010 season.

The best 'big' backs in Louisiana history PDF Print E-mail
Lee Brecheen's Blog
alleybroussard.jpgIn my days of watching college and high school football, I've seen many great running backs carry the football. Some made it in college, and some of those made it in the NFL. Others never played college ball for various reasons. Louisiana has had its share of great running backs to come out of the state over the years.

Mamou's Walker on Tulane's radar PDF Print E-mail
Lee Brecheen's Blog
Mamou High's Robert Walker (RB/athlete), who might be the fastest hand-timed forty-yard dash player in the state, has narrowed his choices to ULL, McNeese State and Tulane.

MICHAEL LAMOTHE
LINEBACKER
6'4" 220
NEW IBERIA

Michael Lamothe of New Iberia High School is a big-time sleeper in some eyes, but in my eyes, he is a big-time player with incredible grades, athletic ability, and upside that very few in this year's 2009 signing class possess.

Michael stands a true 6'4 and weighs 220 pounds. He looks like he's only 200 pounds because he carries it so well.
