Season ticket waiting list grows for Saints

Want to attend a New Orleans Saints home game in 2009? Get in line. You'd better be a current season ticket holder or have friends in high places. New Orleans is starting to rival Green Bay and Washington D.C. for interest in NFL season tickets.

The Saints have once again sold out their season tickets at 70,092. This marks the fourth consecutive year that the Saints have sold out for the entire season. "We are pleased with the continued response of our fans," said Saints Vice President of Ticket and Suite Sales Mike Stanfield.

What is even more impressive is that the waiting list for Saints season tickets has now exceeded 50,000: "It continues to grow annually. You can sign up in the front fold of our web site at www.neworleanssaints.com," said Stanfield.

The only opportunity still remaining to get into Saints games this season is through suites. A few box suites still remain. "They are some in good locations," said Stanfield.

"We sold them out last year. We expect to sell them all this year. You have some decisions coming from outside of the area. People have to make economic decisions. With all of the events coming up in the city at the Superdome, with the renovations to the Dome, it's an exciting time to be suite holder. Being a suite holder clearly has benefits beyond the Saints product," said Stanfield.

Suite sales are at about the same level they were at the same time (beginning of June) of last year, according to Stanfield. With regard to the Superdome improvements/renovations, Stanfield says everything is on schedule to be ready to go by the first Saints pre-season game at home on August 14 against the Cincinnati Bengals.
