Capitol High's Broadway commits early to Houston
Arguably the top prep QB in the state of Louisiana has found a college
home. Capitol High (Baton Rouge) standout Terrance Broadway committed
to play his football for the University of Houston of Conference USA.
The 6'1 190 pound signal caller chose the Cougars over Mississippi State, Oregon, and Louisiana Tech among many others.
Broadway was offered by Alabama last summer after wowing the staff at their camp. Then came another offer camp from Nebraska. Broadway's season began, and he suffered an injury in the season opener against John Curtis. He was never the same. Some of the bigger colleges wanted to see what Broadway would do on film in his senior season, but the Lions' star wanted to get his decision over with before the season began.
Broadway's club lost last season to Patterson in the first round when hobbled through an MCL injury. As a sophomore, Broadway led the Lions to a first round win and an almost upset of eventual 2007 3A state finalist Westlake. He was also good enough to take snaps at quarterback as a sophomore as a backup when the starter went down on occasion with injuries.
Broadway will likely redshirt as a true freshman for Houston and then compete for a backup spot in 2011 to then senior Case Keenum, who will finish his career as a four year starter at quarterback. Broadway is fully qualfied.
