Recruiting Roundup - Top runners for 2010
A little jockeying has begun among the top running back prospects in the Class of 2010.
The number two prospect nationally, running back Marcus Lattimore (6'0-207) was the South Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year in 2008 after rushing for 2,134 yards and 30 touchdowns. He has announced that his current final eight choices: Auburn, South Carolina, Alabama, North Carolina, Florida State, Penn State, Clemson and Maryland.
The 2nd rated RB and the 8th player overall nationally, Lache Seastrunk (5'10-183, 4.4 forty), was once thought to be a lock for LSU for the 2010 signing class. He reportedly told Auburnundercover.com that every school on his list (Auburn, LSU, Florida, USC, North Carolina, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Baylor, Texas , Texas A&M, Alabama and Miami) is still in the mix.
In fact, Seastrunk may very well end up another brad of Tiger. He indicated to a group of Auburn fans that they will be very happy with his final decision come January.
After Lattimore and Seastrunk in the 2010 RB class, expect more attention to be focused on:
- Storm Johnson (6'1-205, 4.5) from Buford, Ga. He already has an offer from the LSU.
- Matthew Wells (6'2-202, 4.5) from Monticello, Mississippi. No offer for him from the Tigers as of yet.
- Nick Parker (6'1-210, 4.5) from Batesville, Miss. He's a 3 star recruit that already has an offer from LSU. He had 2,500 yards rushing with 29 touchdowns in 2008. He is extremely durable evidenced by his ridiculous 56 carries in the state championship game. He defines workhorse with endurance.
Two more rising backs...
Hahnville RB Alfred Blue (6'2-200, 4.5 forty) is gaining a lot of attention from college suitors. Tulane, Tulsa and Texas A&M are hot on his trail right now.
Keep an eye on RB Dontae Williams (5'10-185, 4.55) from Houston. SMU is his only offer thus far, but Purdue, LSU, Texas A&M and Oregon are closely monitoring the progress of this under-the-radar runner. He makes quick cuts, has good body control and makes cuts at full speed. Williams also displays surprising strength for his size.

Jot down the name Bradley Sylve from South Plaquemine High School. Most
already are familiar with the sophomore track star. He captured track
honors this season with sizzling performances of 10.33 in the hundred
meters, 21.33 in the 200 and 41.77 in the 400 meters. He will line up
at WR for coach Cyril Crutchfield this fall.
Sylve already has an offer from Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide, and
LSU's offer should be forthcoming. He will be among the top prospects
nationwide for the 2011 class.

Aundrae Dean, a 4 star signee with UCLA in 2008, has decided to
transfer to TCU. The Katy, Texas native suffered a sprained ankle
during his freshman season and only had 10 carries. He was the 6th
rated RB in the country in 2008 after rushing for 2,164 yards and 23
scores his senior season. He will be required to sit out 2009 and have
3 years of eligibility remaining.
