The "New" NewOrleans.Com Logo
Our name, NewOrleans.Com, is without a doubt the most intuitive and recognizable web address to identify our city and our region. The new logo for our site is inspired by our history, our culture and the bright outlook for our future.
The city name is punctuated by a golden globe and a silhouette of St. Louis Cathedral with the famed statue of Andrew Jackson highlighted against the church. This image from Jackson Square, one of the most photographed in the United States, reflects our sense of unique community (the church) and our special place in American history (the statue).
The golden globe represents the rising sun and the bright outlook for our city as we reinvent and redefine what we can be as we rebuild following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.
The church and the statue also represent anchors to our past to remind us that some things should never change – our wonderful diversity, our music, our food and our love and joy of life.
The lines above “New” and “Orleans” represent the waters that surround our community – the currents of the Mississippi River, the shore of Lake Pontchartrain and the waves of the Gulf of Mexico. While it was the horrible flood waters of Katrina that created such devastation in 2005, we who live here know that much of our culture, our economy and our way of life are directly tied to the water that surrounds our homes.
