Nestled in the Faubourg Marigny, La Peniche opened its doors in 1981 to locals and visitors alike, as a true New Orleans neighborhood restaurant. La Peniche is French for "barge" and rightfully named, as the walls in this 100 year old building are made of barge board that once carried cargo down river, giving this restaurant a feeling of being in Mom's kitchen.
