Louisiana Air National Guardsmen from
the 159th Fighter Wing are conducting an Operational Readiness
Exercise at Belle Chasse Naval Air Station this weekend.

The purpose of the exercise, running Saturday through Monday, is
to test the guardsmen's ability to do their work under simulated
wartime conditions. Approximately 800 Airmen and 12 F-15C fighter
aircraft will be involved in the three-day event.

People near the Belle Chasse station are being advised to expect
more frequent explosive sounds as a result of simulated artillery
being used.
