Once the site of old plantations, the neighborhood was divided into smaller land parcels and developed by wealthy newcomers to rival the architectural splendor and beauty of the French Quarter. On this walking tour, you'll see Lafayette Cemetery, the homes of author Anne Rice and rock star Trent Reznor (outside only), the house where Jefferson Davis died, and other antebellum treasures.
