Description

Take a New Orleans cooking class at Crescent City Cooks and take home a taste of New Orleans. Maybe you fell in love with the Banana's Foster at Brennan's, or the to-die-for gumbo at Herbsaint, or the soul Creole red beans and rice at Dooky Chase. After you've eaten in a few of New Orleans' essential and historic restaurants, you'll want to learn how to make your favorite, classic New Orleans dishes. The daily classes at Crescent City Cooks cover all of the Creole basics.

Every day, the cooking school offers a 2.5-hour demonstration of classic New Orleans dishes like jambalaya, chicken and andouille or seafood gumbo, crawfish or shrimp etouffee, or red beans and rice, the staple dish served on Mondays in restaurants and homes across New Orleans. You'll learn how to make famous New Orleans desserts like bread pudding or banana's foster and also sample pralines. A full meal and beverages are included in the price of the demonstration class.

The cooking demonstrations are conducted by New Orleans natives. Their cooking demonstrations go beyond technique and ingredients – the classes cover the cultural and family traditions that shaped these iconic New Orleans dishes.
