Harrah's Casino

8 Canal St.
New Orleans, LA 70130
(800) 427-7247
Ranked as one of the most exciting things to see in New Orleans, this casino is a day's worth of fun under one roof.

Description

If you have come to New Orleans for food and fun, and you just happen to be feeling lucky, skip Bourbon Street and find your spot at Harrah's New Orleans Hotel & Casino. Professionally managed and operated, this local casino offers the same rich, indulgent feel of its big brother and sister in Vegas right here along the Mississippi River. Harrah's Hotel, a AAA Four-Diamond property, offers 26 stories of deluxe rooms and suites with sweeping views of the Mississippi River and is mere steps away from the French Quarter.

Just inside the Canal Street doors lies Party Gras, where 2100 of the hottest hitting slots in the state wait for guests to strike it rich. Constantly updating the machines is the key, and Harrah's has a knack for making sure they have most up to date slots available. Themed slots are super-popular at this casino, and there are over three hundred slots following seventeen different themes.

Twenty full-sized poker tables offer guests a chance to try their hand at a variety of exciting poker games dealt by professionally trained and licensed dealers. No-limit Texas Hold'em is a favorite at this casino, but others like straight poker, and the World Series poker trials. In May 2010, the Casino hosted World Series of Poker Satellite Events, including single, super, and mega-satellite days that led up to the WSOP Circuit Championship Event that month.

The poker room offers something for everyone at every level of competition in the game; beginners are welcomed at the start up table and the heavy hitters are stationed in back for quiet, cool concentration.

Table games are the most popular at this casino and the floor is covered in them. With a dealer matched to the expertise of the players, guests don't have to worry if they are sitting at a table with a dealer that is too advanced for their skills. Tables and levels are clearly marked and the dealers take regular notes to inform players of the current status of the game. This time the heavy hitters are located along the cavalcade of tables leading the area, as big players win big.

Nightlife is on also on tap at this amazing casino. In the center of the casino, like an icy oasis, sits Masquerade, a nightclub that appeals to the senses. With large screen TVs, go go dancers, and fresh air pumped in, the club has all it needs to keep its partygoers going. Check out the 42-foot media tower surrounded on all sides by rings of faux fire. At the tower's base is the coolest, and coldest bar in town; the Ice Bar is a full-service drink venue that's guaranteed to have all the poisons you need or want at that particular moment. The 52-foot ceiling is complete with fiber optic lights trained on a night sky themed mural giving the feel that the entire party is outdoors. The experience is fulfilling, fun, and, of course, all New Orleans.

The Ultra Lounge is set aside for VIP guests, or guests who just might want to be treated as such. Complete with oversized couches that are super comfortable, and a private bar stacked to the rim with all the best drinks, this small but intimate space offers privacy and intimacy along with romance. The dominate color is red and the crowd is usually light in this bar.

Eat your heart out, Vegas!  That is sure to be the theme when you decide to have a meal at Harrah's New Orleans. With so many top-notch choices, this casino offers guests any taste they can imagine starting with Asian cuisine at Bambu. Serving classic Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese, and Chinese dishes just inside the Canal Street entrance, the interior offers a clean and modern design to its guests. Decorated with symbols of good luck, plan to be treated like a winner when put your feet under a table at Bambu.

Two New Orleans staples in the steak community are Ruth's Chris Steak House and Besh Steak, and both are present on this property, and one is as good as the other at making guests feel like they are the only tourists in an amazing city. Other eateries include Gordon Biersch (with great seating along Fulton Street), the Cafés on Canal, Grand Isle, and the amazing Buffet at Harrah's (the line alone will tell you what people think of this choice).

Additionally, Total Rewards members can redeem credits for dining or area attraction vouchers at any of over 35 New Orleans Partners.

Check for casino and resort deals, but remember the casino is 21 and over only. This includes any eateries and gift shops that are within the casino's walls. While children are welcome to stay at the hotel, they are not allowed to pass through the entrances to the casino for any reason. This rule is strictly enforced.

Special events and parties are welcomed, and encouraged to make reservations in advance for special package deals and promotions.
