When people want to save money on a hotel room, they often look beyond the beaten path. It's an especially good strategy when it comes to visiting New Orleans, because as a compact city, its suburbs are close at hand. That's where the Super 8 Metairie, a Wyndham property, comes in. This nearby suburb of New Orleans is just minutes from downtown New Orleans, the French Quarter, the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, the Convention Center, Audubon Zoo and more. Guests can hop on to nearby I-10 or even the Earhart Expressway and be in the city almost before they know it. And with Metairie being the home to both Zephyr Field and the Saints training camp, the Super 8 Metairie is also a good place for the sports-minded.
Thanks to its low rates, the Super 8 Metairie is automatically a good value. But once you add in the hotel's free continental breakfast (which gets high marks from guests) and free high speed internet access, it becomes a great one, especially in light of the fact that all of its rooms and suites feature a refrigerator, a microwave, a coffee maker and free HBO. Other hotel amenities include hair dryers, free parking (for cars and busses), an outdoor pool and a pet-friendly policy.
There's room for working too, with the Super 8 Metairie able to accommodate up to 60 people in its 1120 square foot meeting room. Copy and fax services are available as well. As for dining, there is a Shoney's adjacent to the hotel and a number of restaurants within a short distance, including a Krispy Kreme where it's almost impossible not to stop in when the hot doughnuts light is flashing.
What may be the most impressive aspect about the Super 8 Metairie is the level of service it offers. Guests over and over again compliment the hotel for its level of comfort, its high standards and the friendliness and professionalism of its staff. The Super 8 Metairie may be a good value hotel a bit outside the city, but as one recent guest put it "I've often paid far more in other motels that were nowhere near as good as this one."
