Description
Located near the river end of Canal Street, the DoubleTree Hotel New Orleans sits on the line that divides the French Quarter from New Orleans' Central Business District – a stone's throw from the city's most famous restaurants and attractions. The bright lights of Bourbon Street are four blocks away, and Harrah's Casino is across the street.
The DoubleTree New Orleans' famous, warm chocolate chip cookies at check-in are just one of the treats of staying in a hotel near the French Quarter. During Mardi Gras, the biggest parades of the Carnival season pass directly in front of the DoubleTree Hotel New Orleans. The Audubon Aquarium of the Americas and Audubon Insectarium are just a few doors down, or if you're in town for a game or concert at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome or New Orleans Arena, you're within five minutes walking distance. Looking for retail therapy? The DoubleTree is steps away from the Shops at Canal Place, The Riverwalk and the charming boutiques and antique shops on Royal Street. The galleries and museums of the Warehouse Arts District, including the National World War II Museum, are within five minutes walking distance.
The 364 rooms at the DoubleTree Hotel all come with Sweet Dreams bedding, Neutrogena bath products, and high-speed internet. Guests have access to the fourth floor terrace pool, a fitness room outfitted with Precor equipment and complimentary entry to the nearby Health Club by Hilton Riverside, a 20,000 square-foot facility with a variety of courts, including basketball and tennis, classes and equipment.
The DoubleTree New Orleans offers two dining options: the Sweet Dreams Café, and Lafitte's Restaurant and Lounge, a Cajun/Creole restaurant. World-class dining options nearby include Restaurant August, celebrity chef John Besh's flagship restaurant and the famous Bon Ton Café (a highly revered Cajun restaurant). The DoubleTree Hotel New Orleans is also within easy walking distance of several casual local eateries, including the weekday favorite diner Commerce, the breakfast/lunch spot Ruby Slipper and Red Gravy, a breakfast/lunch place with unique Italian specialties.
Business travelers note: the DoubleTree Hotel New Orleans is four blocks from the Convention Center. The hotel has a 24-hour business center and 20,000 square feet of flexible meeting space. The ballroom on the 16th floor accommodates up to 600 and overlooks the city and the Mississippi River.
