Each year, the French Quarter Festival provides free entertainment to the city, with more than 150 musical performances on sixteen stages throughout the French Quarter over three days, bringing tourists and locals together. The FQF will have more than 70 food and beverage booths this year, located in Jackson Square, Woldenberg Riverfront Park and the U.S. Mint.
The FQF is dedicated to supporting the local music community by showcasing only local musicians on its eighteen outdoor stages, proudly featuring every genre of local music including gospel, jazz, funk, classical, Cajun, zydeco, and brass band sounds. Some of this year's artists include The Radiators, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Irvin Mayfield, Rebirth Brass Band, Amanda Shaw & The Cute Guys, Soul Rebels, Big Chief Bo Dollis Jr. and the Wild Magnolias, and many more.
Along with great music, you’ll find incredible food booths at the French Quarter Festival featuring culinary delights from restaurants all over the Greater New Orleans Area. Some items from last year's food vendors include boudin, fried alligator, crawfish pie, jambalaya, red beans & rice, po-boys, pralines, bread pudding with bourbon sauce, gumbo, blackened catfish, andouille sausage, BBQ shrimp, cochon de lait, roasted duck, seafood pasta, crawfish & goat cheese crepes, and oysters any way you desire. You can also usually find famous local libations around the food vendors to keep you cool and happy throughout the festival. For more information on the French Quarter Festival, visit www.fqfi.org.
